Robonova is an innovative robotic humanoid available as a kit or ready-to-use.
It is capable of a very wide range of move thanks to the 180 degrees of freedom of its combined 16 servos.
RN-1 is the ideal platform to experiment with accessories and extra sensors such as gripping claws, sound, light
and picture recognition systems.
Additional servos can be added to the basic configuration. Third-party extensions are being developped.
Robonova can be programmed via the Robobasic control and programming software.
The new SimRobot 3D robot simulation software (freely downloadable) can be used to modelise Robonova's movements and check its balance.
SimRobot can even be used without a Robonova: a great discovery tool for future users.
Connection between the RN-1 and the PC platform is realised through a mini-jack to serial adapter.
3rd-party serial-to-USB adaptors can be used for computers without built-in serial ports.
This configuration also works under Mac OS X via VMWARE's Fusion 2.x PC emulator
running with a Windows license by using the USB ports sharing function.
